I love being a Charlottesville maternity photographer! I met Belinda last year. She had just started her photography business and so we had a lot in common. She also wanted to ask me about our adoption experience with Maggie. You see, she and her husband Justin have been trying to have children for many years and they were researching their options. Well, adoption is still not out of the picture, but as you can see, they are getting ready to finally complete their dream of having children with not one, but two babies!! I couldn’t be happier for them:) I can’t leave out the fact that their son Herson, who they have been fostering for a few years is also excited to finally be a big brother!
And not only am I doing their newborn session, but they have asked me to capture the birth too….wow!! I feel blessed that they would entrust all of these special moments to me~
I went to Belinda’s facebook page and saw that she had posted these words on an infertility page to inspire other couples dealing with the same struggles as they have faced. She has given me permission to share it here because I am hoping it will touch someone else~
“Up until today I always had a hard time putting it into words, as I can promise you that we had our dark days. We had our moments when everything seemed to be slipping out of control and we couldn’t see the light at the end of any tunnel. BUT today while on our way to our birthing class I heard a song that spoke to me and this version has stuck with me …
I don’t wanna be someone who walks away so easily
I’m here to stay and make the difference that I can make
Our differences they do a lot to teach us how to use
The tools and gifts we got yeah, we got a lot at stake
And in the end, you’re still my friend at least we did intend
For us to work we didn’t break, we didn’t burn
We had to learn how to bend without the world caving in
I had to learn what I’ve got, and what I’m not
And who I am
I won’t give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I’m giving you all my love
I’m still looking up
Still looking up.
Ladies don’t give up! Don’t give up on who you are! Don’t give up on the reasons why you married that man (or your loved one that walks this journey with you)! Don’t give up HOPE! There is always HOPE and it shines through after lots of tears and love!
Here we are at 30 wks and 4 days, pregnant and expecting twins. We are proof that miracles that do happen!”
